Our Partners

RUFC is above all a partnership between local community-based organizations in Uganda who ​take the lead in developing and implementing programs and international organizations with the capacity to help strengthen their efforts.

Youth Rising is a Ugandan NGO protecting the rights and wellness of young people, spur their economic development and steer the campaign of poverty alleviation through employment and innovations in job creation. Youth Rising is RUFC’s core programatic partner on all activities. RUFC supports a full-time project manager at Youth Rising to assist with RUFC-related activities and provides administrative support to the organization.

Makerere University is one of the largest and oldest universities in Africa. It is ranked among the top universities on the continent. It has a student body of about 30,000 undergraduates and 3,000 postgraduates. Makerere students partner with RUFC to deliver public health programming.

Football for Good (FFG), founded in 2013, unlocks the competitive advantages of frontier regions in East Africa to identify and develop youth football talent, deliver world-class training, education and character-building, and provide global opportunities to the youth, communities, and partners it serves.

The Uganda Red Cross Society (URCS) is the leading humanitarian organization in Uganda. Since its inception in 1939 as a small women’s emergency organization, URCS has developed over the years into a formidable well-respected humanitarian agency. RUFC partners with URCS in delivering drowning prevention and first aid training during its Splash Safe Camps.

Swim Safe Uganda (SSU) has been promoting water safety through various training workshops and campaigns for nearly a decade. Their aim is to ensure professionalism, efficiency and quality services among lifeguards/and pool attendants in Uganda. SSU supports RUFC’s learn to swim and water rescue training as part of its Splash Safe Camps.

Grassroots Soccer is an adolescent health organization that leverages the power of soccer to educate, inspire, and mobilize at-risk youth to overcome their greatest health challenges, live healthier, more productive lives, and be agents for change in their communities. GRS provides training to RUFC staff so that GRS curriculum can be implemented at our Soccer and Health camps.

Children’s Chance International (CCI-Uganda) is an NGO based in Lira District, Northern Uganda, aimed at empowering youth, women, orphans and other vulnerable children through life skills training, livelihood support, provision of educational opportunities, rehabilitation and post-conflict reconstruction support. CCI-Uganda is our 2019 Soccer and Health Camp community implementor.

Global Health Network Uganda (GHN (U)) is an NGO based in Oyam, Uganda that works to promote health and improve life among community members through providing wrap-around services. GHN (U) was RUFC’s 2017-2019 Soccer and Health Camp community implementor. Based on our partnership GHN(U) has been able to obtain multiple small grants from the US Embassy in Uganda.
